THE EDIT: STYLE WITH ATTITUDE AND EDGE

When it comes to buying clothes, being stylish and staying current is just as important to me now as it was in my 20s and 30s – and with a greater sense of our own individuality and style, there’s plenty of high street fashion out there for the savvy shopper. I love Zara for the latest designs and trends, but have discovered a gorgeous and relatively new curated womenswear brand called Harpenne for when I want something a little more special.

Founded by industry expert and River Island’s Fiona Lambert, Harpenne is all about finding confidence in your own individual style – fashion with attitude and edge that looks stylish without chasing the latest trends, and with added details and trim you’d expect to see in the more luxury brands. It goes beyond high street fashion – but without the designer label price tag!

Fiona says: “The pieces within the collection are inspired by culture and individuality. Aimed at women with attitude, Harpenne wants to revolutionise the retail offering so all women can embrace their sense of style and feel confident, no matter what their age.”

Here are some of my standout pieces that are definitely going to become my wardrobe favourites!

Sofia Black Floral Ditsy Shift Dress - £75

I absolutely love this floral shift dress. The high neck combined with the frilled hem and lace detail on the sleeves make it so sophisticated – perfect for a winter night out with some knee length high boots, but still light enough to take you into spring with a chunky cardigan and some low cowboy boots for a more boho look.

Blue Knit Panelled Midi Dress - £119

If you’re going for a more tailored look, this blue knitted midi dress has just the right combination of chic and style. The gorgeous colour alone will make you stand out!  I’d wear with it my Veja trainers and a denim jacket to edge it up, and for a more calm or work look I’d pair it with stiletto ankle boots.

Navy Blue Swallow Print Frill Top - £59

I love the detail on this blouse with the beautifully designed swallow print and 70’s neckline - perfect to dress up jeans or cigarette pants!

Blue Wool-Mix V Neck Jumper - £59

Every wardrobe needs a good V neck jumper – and I love this for its splash of bright colour in the winter months, with the extra added detail making it just that little bit different. Skirts, jeans, classic trousers – it goes with absolutely everything – and in all seasons!

Black Cream Reversible Coat - £249

I LOVE this coat!  It’s the epitome of luxury and versatility. The bold, faux black leather makes it perfect for winter, while the snug cream shearling wool blends seamlessly into spring. Priced at the higher end of their range, this might seem expensive, but it is two coats in one and – unlike many reversible clothes – it really does manage a complete contrast!

Harpenne may be more expensive than the high street but not so much for what is a luxury, designer brand. And what’s great too is that you can buy on an instalment basis over a period of three payments. Time to treat myself to that coat!

New customers get 10% off their first order!
