CONTOURING FOR EVERY EYE SHAPE
I’m a champion of the adage ‘Life begins at 40’. These days, I’d even go so far as to say life begins at 50! No longer full of the self-doubt or questioning of our younger years, we’re certainly more comfortable – and indeed confident – in our own skin.
But the effects of time, menopause, busy careers, family life, a little too much sun, a few too many late nights (you get the idea), certainly come to the fore. Our skin thins, its natural elasticity diminishes, it appears more pigmented, fine lines deepen, eyes become hooded and our whole complexion can appear jaded.
We tend to notice it most is around our eyes … and one of the most common questions I’m asked is how to revive lost shape or definition around our eyes. Sorry to say it, but I have one word for you – contouring! (I did apologise!)
I promise you, it really isn’t as complicated as so many YouTube videos make it out to be. A few subtle and clever tweaks to your eye makeup routine (whether for everyday wear or special occasions) will make such a huge difference – refreshing and brightening your eyes instantly.
My top tip is to always use an eye primer. It won’t only ensure your eye shadows stay put for longer, but also even out skin pigment and provide moisture to the skin while smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
Try our incredible Visible Lift I-Radiance Palette – perfect for eye contouring. This carefully curated palette features an essential eye primer and four ultra-wearable shadows to highlight, shape and define.
In addition to a few select eye shadows, you’ll want just two more makeup essentials in your eyewear armoury … a brow pencil and a mascara.
A defined brow works wonders for lifting your eye and opening your entire face. But don’t assume you need to go darker than your natural hair colour … a matching shade, or even one slightly lighter is ideal for creating fuller-looking, naturally defined brows.
Try my Brow Lift Perfecting Liner and 6-in-1 Perfect Lash Mascara and put this to the test!
